City Hall will be closed Thursday, December 24th thru Sunday, January 3rd for an extended holiday break. This includes the Community Development Office and Utility Billing Office. Building permits and licenses will not be issued during this period. Utility payments can continue to be made using the drop box near the drive thru window in the alley on the west end of City Hall and by credit card at www.augustaks.org or by calling 1-800-272-9829 and using Jurisdiction Code 6523 (credit card processing fees will apply). Payments will be processed on the date received and late fees will not be assessed unless received after the due date noted on your bill. If you require new service, please visit the Utility Office page at www.augustaks.org, complete the appropriate application, and bring your completed application, valid photo ID, rental agreement and cash or check in the amount of $25 per meter to the Utility Office when we reopen on January 4th. With the extended time off the Animal Control Officer will be unavailable for animal at large call outs from Dec. 24th through January 3rd. During this time reporting parties will need to contain the at large animal and take it to the Animal Clinic to be processed by a Safety Officer. Then a picture of the animal & animal shelter form will need to be emailed to the ACO (email@example.com) and she will post the lost pet on the Animal Control Facebook page. If someone is missing their pet, have that individual contact the Animal Clinic (316-775-7061) to verify if the animal has been turned into them. The Augusta Animal Clinic will be closed all day on Dec. 25th & Jan. 1st, they are open 8AM-1PM on Dec. 24th & Dec. 31st, and will have normal business hours throughout the rest of the week.
Cemetery, Parks, and Streets staff will not work during the extended holiday unless absolutely required. Public Safety and Solid Waste will continue to operate normally. Utility workers will be available for emergency call-outs as needed. Leaks and outages can be reported to Public Safety Department (316)775-4500 and utility workers will be dispatched as needed. The City will also monitor weather conditions for snow and ice and determine if any city response is needed for road treatments/plowing during the extended holiday break.
