Each year, the League of Kansas Municipalities organizes a statewide writing competition for 7th graders that tasks them with describing what they would change about their communities given the opportunity. Participants create a full policy proposal, including identification of goals, potential barriers, and necessary resources. Five regional winners and one overall winner are selected.
Claire was honored on January 22, 2020 at the League of Kansas Municipalities' Local Government Day in Topeka. She is pictured in the image below with her family, her teacher Ms. Arnold, LKM Executive Director Erik Sartorius, and LKM President John McTaggart.
The City of Augusta thanks Claire for representing our community so well. Our future is bright!
