Request Notice of Public Meetings


Notification
Requests for public meeting notification is handled in accordance with the Kansas Open Meetings Act (KOMA) K.S.A. 75-4317 et seq. and K.S.A. 2016 Supp. 75-4318(b)(3). Notices include the time, date, and place of each public meeting, and will be provided for, but are not limited to, the following public meetings:

  • City Council – Regular and Special Meetings and Work Sessions
  • Airport Advisory Board
  • Board of Building Trades
  • Convention and Tourism Board
  • Economic Development Board
  • Housing Authority
  • Insurance Board
  • Library Board
  • Main Street Design Committee
  • Park Advisory Board
  • Planning Commission
  • Any Ad-Hoc Committees created by the City Council

Meeting Agendas
In accordance with the Kansas Attorney General’s Guide to Open Meetings and Open Records, the section under meeting conduct states that agendas do not have to be mailed in advance of the meeting. Agendas may be placed in a public place. Augusta City Council agendas and packets are posted on the City’s website at augustagov.org.

Notice Expiration
Please be advised that state statue allows notice requests to expire at the end of each calendar year (https://ag.ks.gov/open-government/koma-faq). If you do not make a formal request each year, the City will no longer provide notices of public meetings.
