This place is going to the dogs! Augusta’s newest attraction located in the Meadowview Acres addition to Garvin Park is a space for your furry companions to truly let loose. Augusta’s dog park features more than 60,000 square feet of running room for your playful pooches. The park is divided into separate spaces for large dogs and small/timid dogs. A five-foot black plastic-coated fence and double-gated entry system surround the perimeter so you can focus on playtime. During your visit, Fido will enjoy the park’s amenities:

  • Six dog waste stations with ample supply of free waste baggies
  • Mature shade trees
  • Doggy teeter-totter
  • Jumping hoops
  • Climbing boulders and tree stumps#
  • Fire hydrants/doggy shaming stations (Don’t be a cliché!)
  • Water fountain with doggy bowl

Dog Park Rules and Regulations

  • The City of Augusta is not responsible for injury or damage. Use and enjoy the park at your own risk.
  • Dogs must be healthy and display current City license and rabies vaccination tags.
  • Owners are legally responsible for their dog(s) at all times. Please keep your dog(s) from jumping on other dogs or people.
  • Dogs who bark incessantly or are aggressive toward people or other dogs must be removed from the park.
  • Owners must supervise their dogs at all times with leash readily available.
  • Dog handlers under 14 shall be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Dangerous dogs, as defined by Section 2-101(i) of the Augusta City Code, are restricted from the Dog Park.
  • Immediately pick up your dog’s waste and dispose of it in the receptacles provided.
  • Dogs must be leashed while entering and exiting the park.
  • Food (dog and human), treats/rawhide, and glass bottles are PROHIBITED.
  • Puppies under four months and dogs in heat are PROHIBITED.
  • Please report any concerns with the Dog Park to the Community Development Office at (316) 775-4505.

Dog Licenses
Don’t forget to register your doggy with the City of Augusta annually. It’s the law. Registrations are valid for one year and can be obtained from the Utility Office in City Hall at 113 E. 6th Avenue.
