Fishing & Boating Licenses (Augusta City Lake)
Augusta City Lake fishing permits can be picked up from the Public Safety Building at 2100 N. Ohio or the Utility Office at 111 E. 6th Ave. Boating permits can only be picked up at the Public Safety Building.
Daily and Annual fishing permits are available to Augusta residents and non-residents ages 16 to 64. Those younger than 16 or older than 64 do not require a license. Boating permits are available to Augusta residents and Butler County residents (limit first 25) only. Please check out the Augusta City Lake page for specific fees and restrictions.

Parks & Recreation
The Parks and Recreation Division of the Community Development Department is responsible for maintenance and upkeep of Augusta’s parks, lakes, and recreational facilities. The major parks and recreation features listed below offer Augusta residents and visitors with a variety of opportunities for fun, physical activity, and gathering.

To reserve a park shelter for an event/activity, please fill out this online form. Those wanting to reserve the Frisco Depot will need to do so through the Augusta Chamber of Commerce.
Pet Registration (Dogs and Cats)
All dogs and cats owned and kept within the city are required to be registered and licensed with the City and immunized with a rabies vaccination upon reaching 4 months of age. Licenses cost $5.00 and last for a period of one year after issuance.
Licenses can be obtained at the Augusta Utility Office (113 E 6th Ave) or at the Augusta Animal Clinic (704 E Belmont Ave). Pet owners must bring proof of rabies vaccination with them. The owner of any dog or cat shall, at the time of registration, present to the city clerk a certificate from an accredited veterinarian showing that a male dog or cat has been neutered or a female dog or cat has been spayed, if the dog or cat has been neutered or spayed.

Dogs that are classified as dangerous dogs according to Municipal Code Section 2-101 are not allowed within city limit and cannot be registered unless they are a registered, state-recognized service dog.

Power Outages
If you have an after hours utility emergency (i.e. electric power outage, water leak, sewer backup, etc.) call (316) 775-4510. After 5:00 p.m., these calls are routed to the Public Safety Building. Dial "0" to report your issue to the dispatcher. The dispatcher will contact the appropriate utility response team.

Road Closures
View listing of current and planned road closures and construction projects affecting traffic in the community. You can also report a pothole to our streets division so they can add it to their maintenance list.
Sewer Backups
From time to time some homes may experience a sewer backup. In most cases the backup is due to problems in the home sewer lateral (typically tree roots). Learn more about sewer backups. Don’t Panic! Call us ASAP!
If you believe the sewer backup is being caused by a blockage in the city sewer main, call 1-316-775-4535 during regular business hours to report the backup. After hours, contact Public Safety Department at 1-316-775-4500 and they will page the wastewater operators who are on call.

There are four (4) separate collection routes for curbside pickup on different days of the week. Your collection day is based on your address. View Route Map

Landfill coupons are available for residential utility customers to dispose of bulky items and trash for free at the Butler County landfill. Pick yours up at the City Utility Office. Read the program fact sheet to learn more about how the coupon cards can be used.
