The operation of adult entertainment establishements in the City of Augusta requires a valid license. Please contact the City Clerk at 316-775-4510 to obtain an application. The Adult Entertainment Establishment License also requires an annual fee of $400.
Alcoholic Liquor License
Any entity wanting to sell alcoholic liquor in the City of Augusta must possess a state license to do so. Please visit the Kansas Department of Revenue website for more information on what type of license your business requires and how to obtain it.
The entity must present their valid state license to the City Clerk. The person or business will then be levied an annual occupation tax based on the type of license they hold.
$150.00 for retail sale of alcoholic liquor
$300.00 for distributor of alcoholic liuqor, except beer
$50.00 for distributor of beer containing more than 3.2 percent of alcohol by weight
It is unlawful for any person licensed by the State of Kansas as a caterer to sell alcoholic liquor within the city without obtaining a local caterer's license from the City Clerk. Call 316-775-4510 to request an application.

Individual and businesses hired to perform work on buildings within the City of Augusta (including construction, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical work) mustpossess a valid contractor's license from the City. Contractor's must also have a minimum of $300,000 in general contractors' liability insurance coverage.

Individuals providing escort services within the City of Augusta must obtain a license from the City Clerk. Applications can be requested by calling 316-775-4510. Escort service providers must pay a $400 annual license fee and escort service runners must pay a $250 annual license fee.

Fireworks Retail Sales License
The sale of approved fireworks will be permitted on the dates of June 27 through July 4 of each year between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. by licensed persons or entities. Those wanting to sell fireworks should contact the City Clerk at 316-775-4510 to request an application.Applicants must also provide a site plan for the proposed sale location.
Fireworks sale permits require a fee of $5,500, as well as a security deposite of $2,500 which willl be returned if the site is fully free from debris by July 10. Please read Article 3 of Chapter VII of the Municipal Code for the full regulations for the discharge and sale of fireworks in Augusta.
Pawnbrokers and Precious Metal Dealers
Annual license fees for pawnbrokers and precious metal dealers are $50. Contact the City Clerk at 316-775-4510 to request a license application.
It is unlawful for any person granted a private club license by the State of Kansas to sell or serve any alcoholic liquor within the city without obtaining a valid local license from the City Clerk. Call the City of Augusta at 316-775-4510 to request a private club license application.
Applicants will need to present a valid state license and pay a local license fee in addition to completing the application. The annual city license fee is $100 for a Class A Club and $250 for a Class B Club.
The Kansas Roofing Registration Act was enacted by the Kansas Legislature and signed by the Governor on April 22, 2013. Under the provisions of this law, on and after July 1, 2013, every "roofing contractor" must obtain a roofing contractor registration certificate from the Kansas Attorney General in order to legally provide commercial or residential roofing services for a fee in Kansas. Any person wishing to conduct any kind of soliciting or peddling or who wishes to engage in selling merchandise from a vehicle must first obtain a General Business License from the City Clerk. An application can be requested by calling 316-775-4510.

Yard Waste Commercial Dumping License
All commercial business operating within the City of Augusta that include tree services and/or mowing services will be required to obtain a permit to allow for the dumping of grass clippings, yard waste, and limbs at the City compost site.
Permits can be purchased at the Inspection Office in City Hall. Fees are $50 if the business is located within Augusta and $75 if the business is located outside of Augusta.
